This is a weirdly powerful omen for the band ultimate split with Anthony. I always saw this song as Anthony's first time speaking out about being in a serious gig. Like, Beau knew what he wanted and knew Anthony was the final piece, but Anthony didn't hold any faith in "half a dream", and while Beau's optimism could be felt with him "smiling through" other members, Anthony just couldn't. So unsure of his own talents stacking up in a new place and style, thinking he'd have nothing worth adding from his own life so far. He'd go as far as to "de-robe" in the face of Beau, not caring anymore because he'd mentally checked out and just "danced" while "not sensing a thing"
