Im a Ford tech and what I learned from my team lead on these. Let the engine run for 30 minutes and use an impact to get them out. never broke any doing that.

Warm up the engine , run a air intake cleaner of some sort and use a 3/8” impact

so you do these completely cold engine ? just wondering if it's say warm , would it help ? only did 1 frod truck set of plugs , I didn't know about this issue until I was done the job , no prob but I have the extra deep torque limiting spark plug sockets

I knew a guy who did it with an impact and never broke one til his impact wasn't available cause it broke. He used a normal ratchet and one broke.

ah, I done a bunch of these,I agree about bowing it off. but I let it run for awhile and then I pull the coils off and use a 1/2 impact gun. never had a problem.

i have customers run two cans of sea foam through fuel system it eats carbon off plug ends and always come out with no issues

Have a 2001 ford f-150 5.4 and I’ve changed the spark plugs many of times and never had a issue

Why Ford didnt put enough threads on these from the factory is a mystery. I saw the head of a 3v and they pointed out they only have like 4 threads when the plug itself has more threads.
