@nollsbrand: It gets darker in the summer with a tan. Both dermatologist I seen said it was a form of yest but nothing they have prescribed has worked to treat it. I feel like it came on a few years ago when my hormones started to go haywire. Any ladies out there ever experience anything like this? #foryoupage #fyp #perimenopause #perimenopausehealth #hormones #hormoneimbalance

My son gets this on his back. The pediatrician said it was yeast too. But like you the creams and treatments do nothing

Do you use tanning bed? My skin would get like that from tanning beds. Which I haven’t been in a tanning bed in 10 years.

2 of my kids have this. Tinea versicolor, also known as pityriasis versicolor, is a common fungal skin infection that causes discolored patches on the skin. These patches can be lighter or darker than the surrounding skin and are often found on the chest, back, and upper arms. The condition is caused by an overgrowth of the yeast Malassezia, which is a normal part of the skin's microbiome.

I have the same thing on my arms, legs, and chest. It popped up after a day in the heat/sun while I was on vacation last May. The dermatologist had no clue. Treated for tinea , but didn’t do anything. It’s very frustrating. 😞

It is a fungus/yeast. That’s what the comment section said. 🤣 But being serious now, gut health! Seriously changes everything!!! Good pre and probiotics are game changing!

I had this on my stomach after a beach day. Don’t know if it was from the sun, sand or sweating but I heard it’s a fungus. Mine went away on its own in a few weeks
