Yeah I just googled the story. That poor baby is currently 6 years old & is nearly blind, can’t walk without help, and relies on a feeding tube to survive. They were awarded 5.6M— $4.1 million for injuries, pain, and suffering. $1.5 million for the unauthorized photo and privacy violations.

I completely get why the family sued, I’m on their side. But you’re missing the big picture. A physician never saw the pt bc the BUSINESS people NOT DOCTORS who run the hospital hire midlevels (NP, midwives) to see the patients bc they dont want to pay doctors, who frankly have a higher level of expertise. Hence the heftier price tag. So patients and lawyers. Sue hospital CEO’s/admin, make them use their funding to hire more physicians who can oversee every patient as it was intended. This will save countless babies in the future. Hold these money hungry execs accountable.

“Never saw a physician”……. That was me. Midwives should only come into play after being seen by a Doctor and the Doctor deems the pregnancy (mom and child) are 100% normal/textbook and no intervention of any kind is needed.

Eek that’s where my son was born. They would not stop offering a freaking circumcision to us. Literally 7 times. I’m glad we made it out of there without him receiving one behind our back. You can tell it’s a big money maker.
