I’m confused restaurants charge a hefty bill for your meal but they pay the servers pennys on the dollar?? If I were a server I’d go after the restaurants not after people that’re paying for a meal, so we pay for the meal and the servers wage? I’m confused.

Oh my. You did the job you were hired to do and get paid to do by your employer. But because a customer didn't give you free money of theirs you threw a tantrum? Wow. The feeling of entitlement is wild. And then you thought you'd go online and out this church for not tipping because you wanted pity from strangers online? Grow up and realize that your actions have consequences and that as an adult nothing is just given to you. You did your job and your company offers curbside to go so you just fulfilled your duties that your company pays you for. Tipping isn't required nor forced. They just gave your company almost 1000 in revenue and you are wanting to complain about a measly little tip. I bet if they would have tipped you less than 30 bucks you still would have complained. And the church didn't get her fired. They could have called this restaurant explained what happened and what was posted on social media and wanted to leave a tip but instead the restaurant took action and decided to fire the girl for what she had done and apologized to the church for them having to be put in this situation and the restaurant decided to refund the entire amount as a courtesy to them. Noone knows what happened during that phone call and no one needs too.

Why do you get tips but no other job gets . Do custodians get tips for cleaning the building ? Do mechanics get tips? Police officers, do they get tips? Firemen when they put out the fire? Teachers spend a lot for their classroom , can we get tips? Like I said I give tips at restaurants but it’s not a law!

Why do these people think they are entitled to a tip? She is being paid at least minimum wage if she doesn’t make that in the tips. If she feels she’s underpaid, she should get a new job.

Absolutely not. I've never had a church tip on a take out order, no matter the size. Tips are not required and should not be expected for take out. As a server is it frustrating when I don't get a tip... sure, but either way its my job.
