This video is our advocacy piece for a performance task in the subject Community Engagement, Solidarity, and Citizenship during the 4th Quarter under Ma’am Chavez Myriz Ehdale Lopez-Chavez , back when I was a HUMSS student. Originally, it was created purely as a requirement for our PeTa and for grades. Please don’t expect too much in terms of props or realistic settings. My intention is not to show off or “flex” this work (in fact, I was hesitant to post it because I don’t think it’s "that" good). Rather, I hope this video becomes a small instrument, a voice, calling out those government officials who sit comfortably in their “Upuan” while people continue to suffer. We, us, want to be part of the growing chorus shouting for change, progress, and freedom from corrupt politicians. To the corrupt contractors of flood control projects: you are not just stealing money, you are stealing lives. Every peso you pocket is a home left underwater, a livelihood destroyed, and a child forced to wade through floodwaters instead of walking safely to school. The floods may subside, but the mark of your betrayal will never be erased. One day, the people will rise higher than the waters, and higher than your greed. I was the editor and director of this advocacy video. Honestly, I wasn’t confident about posting it because I’m not a professional in editing or video-making, so, I apologize in advance if it doesn’t meet your expectations. But my love for this country, and my concern for my fellow Filipinos, pushed me to share it. My girlfriend Monica Musni and my friend Aliyah Chelsea Santos have been encouraging me to post it ever since they first saw it up until now, so here it is. This was made on March 15, 2025.
