I hate when they do this 😂 my mom is Danish. But my dad is half Danish and half Swedish. But I still say I’m danish when someone ask because the Swedish part is so little 😂

had this with some dude. Had asked me if I'm really from germany, I went yeah. and he goes "Yeah me and my family too. my aunt researched our ancestors and found we have German ones in the 1700's. so cool to meet another german" like mate...thats not how it works

Yes I had a bit similar experience when I visited USA. Although this girl was literally first generation American . Both parents from Sverige, they named her Nancy and she did not spoke Swedish at all . Like nothing. I was shocked.

Me in Canada and when saying I was Spanish and they asked me to try and see if their Spanish classes were working but then they tried to correct me because I said different words than what they'd learnt (they knew South American Spanish so even though they were saying things correctly I told them they were wrong since I also was wrong when speaking my native language)

My great grandpa was born in Sicily and moved to the US when he was 20. I wouldn’t say I’m Italian but I would say I have an Italian heritage.
