I was a camper there as was my mom. My charm bracelet that I still wear today has many Camp Mystic charms on it, even ones that were passed down from my mom.

I went in 80 and 81. The most magical memories of my life. Pre social media of course. Camp Mystic is a legend and will rise again. This is horrifying. Mystic saved me in the summer after my brother was murdered. I owe my life to Mystic.

I was a camper there in the 80s; my first cabin was Bubble Inn. My favorite Mystic things were Chicken Letters, archery, choir, taps and “Goodnight, Camp Mystic”, swimming in the Guadalupe, and horseback riding. This tragedy is beyond devastating. 😭

I was a counselor at the Twin 2 cabin when I was in college in 1986, & my heart is broken because Mystic is a deep, deep part of who I am even now. The little girls lost - they were so LITTLE! I remember soothing them through homesickness & rejoicing in their creativity & accomplishments & watching them make friends. I remember every one of them. 🦋💗

I also feel like at Mystic, kindness was how you made friends. It was that simple. It was a place that was safe enough for people to put armor and gossip and defenses down and just be KIND. Grieving with you. 💚
