It had been filled in by the borough when I was a kid, but some teens dug the entrance back out. I definitely recommend being VERY careful going in there, also… I wouldn’t drink that water… it’s partly runoff from the street above

People have died in that cave system, the water is about 50 degrees F all year round. It's been buried and dug up so many times. It connects to a massive underground lake that once once a slate quarry as Slatington used to be the blackboard capital of the US. Also the cave gets its name from the mattress factory that was in the area that burnt down.
