The whole problem with him becoming Spiderman is he does it to seek revenge. He doesn’t do it bc he sees the error of his actions and understands great responsibility, he dons the suit so he can beat up this random robber without being recognized. Sure he eventually learns to be a hero but the fact that he made the suit so he can commit a murder is wild

Tasm 1 is him becoming spider-man, and it’s a rough process because Peter is a rough kid having to suddenly grow up a lot faster than those around him. THAT will always be more compelling than just “oh, he’s classic spidey now! Jokes and pantsing bad guys!” Cause that’s been pretty much every other spider-man movie except for like 4 of them including animated.

in tasm 1 there's only 5 scenes that stick with me, the swinging on chains, building his webshooters, testing said webshooters by jumping off of a building, the carjacking scene and finally the bridge scene with the kid and mask that's it.
