not all figs need fig wasp pollination! and it’s not just regular wasps either it’s only in places that have fig wasps so its probably a self pollinating variety

The figs we grow in America are parthenocarpic. There are no pollinators or pollination involved at all

fresh figs are one of the best, grass means it wasnt ripe it should be soft almost mushy to the touch

For some reason when I was about 8 I developed an aversion to figs. My mom made me eat so many fig neutons as a kid that now I shudder at the thought of figs. I hate them. This just made it worse!

Figs have enzymes in them that actually break down the wasp if they do get in there and it’s absorbed back into the fruit

I had a nightmare where a piece of my skin came off like peeling a fruit and inside were little postules (making up my own word like pustules) of flesh. Made me think of oranges grapefruits etc a little differently

some variations of figs are self pollinating. I learned that from a great book called the Island of Missing Trees and an actual fig tree is narrating part of the book 😂 its pretty good
