the term Flash Flood has been so bastardized and undermined that people have become so desensitized to it. I studied environmental science and weather in college and these warnings still scare the shit outta me because I understand them. people are not maintaining their education. the warnings are always severe and the scale is exponential not gradual. I live in San Antonio and take those warnings more seriously than anyone I know and it's maddening.

Ironically enough situations like this are why random places like Tulsa Oklahoma has world class flood infrastructure. The plains states are known for having its water ways experience catastrophic flooding periodically.

Entire camps, RV parks, campgrounds have been washed away. So so sad. I fear the number will keep growing. I also think they should start looking in canyon lake :(

There are actually 3.85 basketballs per cubic foot. The volume of a basketball is 449 cubic inches, whereas a cubic foot is 1728 cubic inches.

the budget cuts and short staffing does not matter, because so many people built cabins in flood warning zone areas which were mapped out by FEMA before Trump took office (both terms)

My neighbor works for lcra, didn’t come home Thursday, or Friday, but got home late Saturday.. officials somewhere knew what was happening Thursday evening. Devastating they did not act quickly enough
