You can change that external filter every 35 miles and that transmission is still not gonna go 200,000 miles. The transmission is poorly engineered and designed to fail at 100 K.

this is actually very very valuable advice .. thank you for sharing what some might consider a trade secret.. (my now junked sentra had 140k miles and I doubt any previous owners bothered to change cvt oil).

servicing of filters and replacing the oil is all well and good but the nissan cvt transmissions suffer from heat soak because they operate at a higher psi pressure , so i strongly recommend an installation of an external oil cooler to lower the oil temperatures and prolong the life of the cvt oil 💯

That’s crazy - a transmission that lasts 35 thousand miles. I do 20 thousand miles a year. I’m driving a c300 and I’m almost at 200k no issues

Peoples would change their CVT transmission oil more frequently IF THAT OIL WASN'T MADE OF PURE GOLD. 60-80$ a quart for a 7 quart oil change plus filters and labor get you around 700$ for an oil change.

for Rouge Cvts there is only a screen in the pan for anything older than 21. They didn't start putting a filter in the pan until the new Cvt starting in 21.
