My son was nonverbal until he was 5, I told his school he understands what you’re saying but he just doesn’t talk back. His receptive speech was amazing, it was his expressive speech that was the issue. Now he tells me about all the characters in his favorite show 🥹

🥺 I read an article of a now young man that was non-verbal until the age of 12, he says he remembers how everyone used to treat and talk to him even though he couldn't respond. broke my heart

I’m a yapper. I can a conversation about a paper and I do this exact thing to my sons who are non verbal. They understand and are aware of everything. They just don’t speak. God job mama.

My son is nonverbal also and has very small selection of words he uses. His favorite when I start yappin too much is either covering my mouth and going “shhhhhhh” or telling me “no thanks” meaning he does not wanna hear it 😅
