This just reminds me you can’t put a price on health! I’m 73 and not rich but I walk 2 to 4 miles every other day, mow my own yard and very active! So I consider myself lucky!

PHIL! I was just thinking about you today. The song was on in the supermarket one of your songs and I thought through all the amazing songs that brought me such joy and intellectual promise the whole album of trick of the tail, and then there were three stay with me was my favorite song for a few years and as a young man, I was a drummer and I don’t know if I’ve ever got anybody this as good as you areand I’m in Theatre in New York and all the guys who did your shows said you were just the greatest I admire you so much such getting old. I hope you take my praise as a reminder of your great accomplishments.

I've been a session drummer in Los Angeles for 30 years and my biggest fear for years is the same thing that he's talking about so a long time ago I really put time into making sure my technique was as perfect as possible to not hurt my body over the years of abuse playing drums. Phil has always been one of my favorite drummers and is a genius but his technique was very bad and I believe a lot of that has shortened his playing career. so I'm doing my best not to fall into those pits and teach young drummers proper technique so they don't hurt themselves. drums played incorrect can be completely devastating on the body if you get the flow and relaxation like in martial arts correct and practice correct I believe you can extend your playing for many many years I'm 52 I've been playing nonstop since 1988 I'm habitual practicer and if I was practicing with bed habits I would be hurting by this time. my hands are soft like a baby no calluses none of that stuff that I do a lot of very intense aggressive playing I make it look intense but I'm actually extremely relaxed
