MommaMackie :
I have an island with nothing in it and all I want is to have a cooktop on the island directly next to my prep area. The issue is that people equate aesthetics with symmetry and put the sink or the cooktop in the centre of their island which completely undermines the functionality of the prep space. I wouldn’t put my sink in the island because sink areas are always messy, but I absolutely am going to put an induction cooktop in the island when we do our kitchen reno, just not smack dab in the middle of it.
