The family can go anywhere but need to pay for the removal. Any services they also need to pay for. We are generous BUT also have to pay our bills.

My funeral home wouldn’t perform services or give out death certs until the balance was paid. I guess they had too many people cheating them. Running off with the DCs and never paying

This is why we don’t cremate w out payment. But the fam can take the loved one anywhere.

Actually, they don’t have to cremate you or bury you. Payment is required in advance for services(cremation or burial). No funeral home will not perform services unless the bill is paid. Once that body is in the ground, you will never get your money

My friend had to bury their child. She told them full payment would not be a problem due to insurance. They made her pay $1,500 before they would dig the hole at the cemetery. I’ve never heard of that.

my mother sent my stepdad to a different Funeral Home it cost me $600 to transfer him from one to the other and it was less than one block

What happens if a dead body is at the morgue? And the family members refuses to claim the body. So they don’t have to be responsible for burial costs

Oh yes this has happened to us only thing the funeral home did was pick up my sister that’s all. But demanded money before anything else. So she was forced cremated because she was not viewable anymore we took to long.

They wouldn’t pick my uncle up from the hospital until some sort of money was paid. I assume that is legal.

My estranged Dad died years ago and was cremated, when I found out I called the funeral home to ask about his cremains just to be told I could have them if I paid the bill but the county paid for it originally. The funeral director also told me the alternative container used for his body was an additional 1,000 dollars for a cardboard box 😳

Sadly my daughter had to pay up front for cremation before they would come to pick up my granddaughter from the hospital. And had just passed 2 hours earlier. That never did sit well with me. Still doesn’t.

When my mom passed I wasn’t able to to have the funeral right away because my young daughter was in the hospital. I set everything up paid half an financed the rest three weeks later the funeral home said they were going to g to go to court to get permission to bury her because it was so long. Is this legal?

I’ve ordered my Daughters to bury me right on the property line between my daughters house & my house as we’re neighbors this will make it a tax free property & as long as you’re in the ground within 24 hrs no embalming needed or even a coffin!
