I mean, if you're sitting there with your bike on, waking up neighbors for no reason, you're in the wrong, but him taking your keys is also overboard. I doubt that he cares about waking people up though.

Just switch your bike on when you’re ready to move. Don’t turn it on and then sit there on your phone, scrolling! It’s really easy to lose track of time but not for those who have to listen to it.

Don't idle your bike before riding, it annoys the neighbours and it's bad for the bike. The only time you should idle before riding is if your bike is carbed and it's a cold day
