This is technically not true!!! iCloud back up is seamless backup that backs up all your fone data on the go and if u loose your fone when restoring it would be as if it was the same phone. U could use iTunes to backup but that is a manual backup and can be time consuming

I’m all for NAS’ and self hosting but iCloud is pretty seamless and in the unlikely event your house burns down or an electrical fire your kinda screwed unless you bought 2 NAS’ and left one at someone else’s place. It’s also worth noting that if you’re spending $1200 for 2x NAS and needing to replace hardware every 5 - 7 years the iCloud subscription is probably more cost effective
