Even today, China continues to commit cruel acts. Historically, during the Tongzhou Incident, Japanese civilians were massacred, and photos of their corpses were later altered and misrepresented as “evidence” of the Nanjing Massacre. In fact, the Nanjing case involved attacks by plainclothes soldiers, which themselves violated the Geneva Conventions of that time. Executions under those circumstances were not unlawful. The claim of 300,000 victims is a huge exaggeration, and in Taiwan the general understanding is similar. The United States, Russia, Germany, and others have all committed serious wrongs in history, but not every country has apologized for all of them. In the end, people are simply being manipulated by one-sided narratives.
