Loons are unreal!!! Was ripping across the lake this morning doing 40 kph, heading to one of my favorite fishing spots, and I look to my left and a loon is flying along side me 20 feet away from my boat at eye level for at least a kilometer!! It easily outpaced me, pulled ahead, and flew past my bow to meet up with another loon. Great way to start a fishing trip!!

when I was a teen I could replicate the loons call we'll enough that I regularly got them to come within 10-15 feet of me. This made into a demigod as a camp counselor when I would do it in the middle of the lake with around 15 12yos in canoes. It was amazing how quiet they got after realizing it was working.
