He said “you hardly gave me any comments on it” referring to the song Goodbye, Chan replies with Seugmin being the owner of the song and in return he says how excited he is for people’s reaction. Then Chan ask if he ever scolded him during training years to what he answered: “ I don’t remember being scolded, maybe because you had to send away trainees that you got close with…” then he said “maybe you thought this guy won’t last long… that’s what I thought “ then he said “ you never scolded me but you never gave me much attention neither” Seungmin felt overlooked and uncertain about his progress and place in the group. This is also what fueled his determination which is why he said “ you were like “you’ll be great on your ow… honestly I didn’t know what to do back then so I told myself I had to prove myself to him”. Seugmin felt misunderstood in the recording studio when they had small arguments and feeling weird about expressing his emotions. He also expressed hating the JYP recording studio ( not the company but the studio itself) since it is a place that constantly reminds him of that struggle and uncertainty. Imagine feeling this way and bottling up your emotions because you see how much sacrifice Chan made and expressing what he felt at that moment would just overwhelm one of his best friends and leader. He felt that his emotions weren’t valid, he didn’t want Chan to worry what was crossing his mind. This episode was very raw and emotional and I’m just happy that puppy spoke out. It also showed chan’s compassionate leadership and it strengthened Seugmin’s sense of belonging.
