@livingbydisney: Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island have been removed from the Magic Kingdom park maps. Construction walls will soon be up to begin work on the new Cars themed land coming to this area of the park. The end of an era indeed. My thoughts: I must admit to not visiting the island or riding on the Riverboat often, but I did love the nature break it gave guests and will miss the beauty of the water and the sound of the boat whistle. I think the concept art looks to be keeping a lot of nature elements to this area which is hopeful. Overall with everything at WDW I just wish we would add and not take away. With the “blessing of space” that Walt Disney World has, let’s just extend the footprint of the parks as we want to add things and not take anything away, even if it isn’t “popular”. But as I always say, I’m just the messenger here 😅 and like you, don’t get a say. I will put faith in the creative minds at @waltdisneyimagineering to do a good job with this iconic Disney park. I know they hear the feedback from fans and they understand they have to deliver something special with this project. What are your thoughts?
