i know this is tricky but i experience a lot of pain during my period and its so bad it keeps me from going to school or doing any kind of physical activity for 2/3 days a month. im on iron supplements and i try my best to manage it, would i still be able to go on an exchange year?

I h8 exchange students with unreal expectations, i feel so sad for people who would do whatever to go on exchange ANYWHERE with ANY host fam and then there are people who only want a specific city and host family expectations amd they get mad and take it out on the people who made it possible for them to go that they didn’t meet their wants. Also the thing i hate the most is ES who absolutely don’t want older host parents which is so unfair to them because they are most of the time the sweetest people and trul do it because they have so much love in their hearts

what if I want to change myself as a person because of my friends? leave them alone for some time, and when I go back, be a different person and have a different perspective and see how they treat me then? not the only reason i want to do an exchange year of course, but would this be considered a red flag?

Spot on. Also, if you value education and knowledge, you might reconsider. In us sports take precedence over academics. It matters to be popular and confident. Even teachers strive to be popular and are afraid of students and parents. Better do a postgrad in us, those are usually good.

So I’ve visited the US about 8 times, I’ve been to and seen about 15 states, and seen a lot of things already. But I absolutely love going and love the food, people, and culture. So I was just wondering if it’s worth doing an exchange year? Like I’ve already experienced the “wow” factor but there’s absolutely more to see!
