@_kennakendall: Campfire nachos gone wrong 😭 First time cooking with a Dutch oven in the campfire. I take it you should not use parchment paper and or don’t put the Dutch oven it in direct flame? Give us all the tips and tricks please 😂 #campfirenachos #dutchovennachos #dutchoven #campinglife #campfirecooking
No parchment paper 😭 the coating on the Dutch oven will handle it way better than other pans, they also heat up super quick and hold heat so instead of direct flame let it sit in a smolder

It’s all good most camping stuff is a learning curve but what I typically do is skip the parchment, throw some oil in there and wipe it around to keep things from sticking, and then for the cooking process I light some charcoal, let it get gray and set the Dutch oven on a layer of coals and put a layer on top of the lid. You tried ur best though you got this!! :)) YouTube is also awesome for seeing it step by step

I would put indirect heat next time and maybe instead of a Dutch oven maybe a cast iron pan with a lid

No lid (you’re steaming them) and no veggies except onion until after they’re cooked!

You can’t cook nachos in a Dutch oven. You need heat from above, not below.

If you still wanna look for something for easy cleanup, definitely just use foil. Just be careful can scratch it.

We had the same problem! We had used a firestarter and it made it taste like literal lighter fluid.

parchment paper should be fine, I use it when I bake nachos in the oven. it's probably the direct campfire. maybe use a grill next time.
