Most employers match your 401k investments up to a certain %, which is basically “free” money. Much better than buying life insurance as an investment. Pensions would be great but they are long gone for most.

People have been so brainwashed and reliant on the system thinking the 401(k) is the ONLY retirement vehicle. They cannot comprehend someone else retiring under different terms.

Everything you said can be avoided by diversifying your portfolio when you get close to retirement age and also contributing to a Roth ira

TL;DR: I honestly don’t even know. Free money = bad, counter to all history the market is gonna crash, let the tax tail wag the dog. Didn’t say this part but, “buy a life insurance policy from me”

401k is a Ponzi scheme. The rich get richer and the rest of us get crumbs. This is coming from a guy that has invested in the 401k for 35 years. If I knew what I know now.

Just contribute to the match, most likely it's up to 5% of your income. It's free money from your employer. Roth isn't differed neither, they tax up front. Safer than a pension too. He's fear mongering.

The Index Bubble is absolutely real, and as retirees take more and more out it's only a matter of time. I'm going 100% whole life insurance and staying away from stocks completely. Record high valuations for equities is no time to buy stocks.

The younger you are the more you should invest in your 401k. Earning power dwindles as you get older. As you get older switch to post tax investments such as roth ira etc. Minimum dispersement requirement can include post tax which can offset your tax bracket

401K/IRA are great vehicles for retirement. If you want a pension you can purchase an Annuity with your 401K funds. It’s the same as a pension. You can buy as little or as much monthly income you want/afford. He references that the market will collapse when you need distributions but money is always flowing into 401K from working population so that’s not an issue.
