She's had a lifetime of shutting off her emotions except anger and sadness, it took her some time to develop the ones that others use daily and even longer for her to get comfortable using them herself. The heart-to-heart with Via is the turning point for her development and I think with season 3 with her confirmed song thats happening, Loona will finally be able to learn she doesn't have to feel alone, or cut-off from people around her. Maybe she can be the one that has a hand in helping Via understand her own feelings of betrayal, lonliness and anger.

personal theory i think between season 1 and 2 loona used the book to find her real parents and found how horrible they are and realized how better of a dad blitz is cause personally if I was a orphan and I knew of a item that would let me find whoever or go wherever thats what id want to use it for

I do personally find there was a weird leap between her in mastermind and her before that but I don’t mind it either, I understand their is a couple months difference in timeline but she stopped being so defensive which I feel is a really difficult thing to completely break off from personality wise
