Yeah, I live in Tokyo and on Sundays or Mondays. If you go out when they do have their kids out some of their kids be bad. Like bad bad. I have been punched in the side by a child and then I’ve gotten kicked in the back of my leg. you literally just don’t see the children because they’re always at school.

That’s how it used to be in the United States. We taught our children to be silent in public. That changed with the millennials.

When I visited Tokyo kids were naughty in public. I was looking at koi in a pond and a mom let her kid pelt rocks at them without stopping him.

If you haven’t noticed they don’t really take the children out as much as we do in the states. I noticed I hardly ever see kids out and about with the family other than the mall.

Went to the mall in Shimoda Japan, my 10 month old started screaming so loud while we were waiting on food but I had the full room of people staring at me. Some smiled at me. But in Japan there are a lot less children for sure. We already get stared at but him screaming def got more looks.

it's happens, they are still babies and toddlers....I hear and see it happen all the time. The biggest difference I've seen is that as soon as the little seems agitated the parents usually remove them from the area so not to disturb other people

from infancy children are taught not to inconvenience others. it's drilled into them. and when a child has a meltdown, they are swiftly removed from the public eye

when Iived in yokosuka I would definitely hear them. alot of locals would interact with my twins to help keep them calm on the trains. it was definitely a community for us.

I heard Japanese kids crying or talking, etc, when I lived there a few years ago. I think a lot of people are intolerant of noise and children in general which is why you might get stares. Not the most conducive to having more children!

I was on a train the other day with a crying baby. but it is less common for sure. but i notice parents find ways to distract them.(i.e., have them look out of the train, or play with something)

I moved to Japan and at first that’s how it felt but no there is, I witnessed a lot of Japanese moms trying her best to comfort their children throwing tantrums. I went to a community center where you can take your child to play on rainy days and I’ve seen it all. We are all struggling out here. Once, at the community center staff asked the mom to take her daughter out of the private room because she was screaming like she was being murdered but no just a tantrum. Mom wasn’t even touching her. I’ve seen it at the parks, if you walk by daycares, at the mall, on the train too. lol
