I'm not sure if you started emo rap, but I have to say, Hollywood Undead helped a lot of us. I met my late husband when we were in high school, and he was obsessed with Hollywood Undead. When he was older, he even got The Dove and Grenade tattoo on his arm. Unfortunately, I lost my husband December of 2024, at age 30, before we were able to see you guys live. But now, I'm supposed to see you guys in September with Falling in Reverse, and I am so excited. Hollywood Undead holds a special place in my heart now ❤️

Idk about invented Emo Rap. However bridged the gap between rap/R&B and Rock/Metal for sure which likely opened doors for the emo rap genre to become what it is.

Born 2000 and found your music around 2010. Been diehard HU4L ever since and have consumed everything there is to consume from you guys. You inspired me to make music and from the jump I liked the unique sound. The blend of almost grunge rock, poetic rap, and a little of everything else you fill in the cracks. Maybe not inventors, but pioneers for sure. Keep rockin J3T

I feel like this is the same debate with Sabbath and heavy metal. Sabbath day they arent metal but everyone disagrees. While HU may not have necessarily invented emo rap you guys were the first to make it big. Swan Songs is my all time favorite album and inspires much of the music I write

I dunno about inventing a genre, but you guys definitely paved the way for what my taste in music is today. I'm always partial to a song with tap in it. City will always have an incredibly special place in my heart as my very first HU song

The first time I ever heard HU was at ROTR and I remember being blown away because I never heard anything like it before. You guys are pioneers of the emo rap genre and one of my favorite bands of all time 🤘🏻
