My older siblings were definitely closer to parental figures or a semi-cool aunt/uncle than siblings. They're 14 years older than me. There's less of an age difference btwn me and my oldest 3 niece/nephews

Whew finally I feel seen. 13 year gap I’m the younger sibling but act like the older one but snappy like the little sister 😂 we also didn’t grow up together. So I’m like an only child as well. Ppl can’t believe I have a sister by my mom and 3 younger ones by my father over 14 years apart from the oldest little sister. I’ve been confused.

Me and my siblings were born in 1997, 2000, 2014, and 2016 - can confirm, we've definitely grown up as two sets of two instead of one set of four siblings. The younger two barely even recognize us as their older siblings because of the massive age gaps and not having lived with us, so we're really more like an aunt and uncle to them. Also it's really interesting to explain to people that I'm the oldest of four but I really only grew up as the oldest of two which is a MASSIVELY different experience.

my mom had my eldest sister at 20 and after four more kids had me at 40, after a week of me being out of the hospital she just stopped saying i was her sibling bc ppl wouldn’t believe her lol. when i was 8 she had her first and only kid, she definitely feels more like a sibling to me haha
