Wood recalled the moment when Nicholson pulled him aside and started chatting about the film. “He starts talking to me about Lord of the Rings, and he’s like, ‘Did you die?’” Elijah replied, “Well, yeah… it sort of depends on how you look at it,” referring to Frodo’s final journey to the Undying Lands. But Nicholson looked confused. According to Wood, he replied, “What are you talking about?
