The photon doesn’t “know” it’s being watched. The measuring device physically affects it (e.g., with energy or interaction), and that changes its behavior. It’s like pushing a rolling ball: your interference changes its path, not because the ball “feels” your gaze. The phenomenon is “strange” because quantum mechanics is weird compared to our everyday world, but it has nothing to do with consciousness or magic. It’s pure physics!

Hitting the particle with light (photons) to "observe" it transfers momentum, disturbing the particle's path and collapsing its wavefunction—destroying the quantum superposition needed for interference. Essentially, the act of measuring which slit it passes through forces it to behave like a classical particle instead of a wave. As johnwickwicker said above me, it’s not observation, it’s interaction.

I think of the big bang as someone turning on a tv and the universe is that screen, That screen is just frequencies and them frequencies make up everything we know! time is an illusion so we see time very differently. thats how i see things.
