Nantucket would probably be too much for only half a day. Martha’s Vineyard is a lot closer and would be more doable!

as someone who lived in boston for YEARS here are my recs: trident booksellers, more than words bookstore, isabella stewart gardner museum, institute of contemporary art, fenway for a game, boston commons, farmers horse coffee, barcelona wine bar for tapas, mida for pasta (they have a great monday deal), modern pastry for a cannoli (& a bar downstairs!), bova’s bakery for 24/7 sweet treats, cafe maiko, over the charles rooftop bar, blossom bar

Go to Provincetown!!! It’s the very tip of the cape, very liberal- you can do a dune tour which is really fun or whale watch, go to the aqua bar, so many restaurants and shops

Martha’s Vineyard is way better for a day trip! Take the ferry and use the busses on the island. ⛵️Great restaurants, views, shopping. Edgartown has some cute bookstores and nice restaurants!

La Famiglia Giorgio’s is a great Italian restaurant and one of my favorite bookstores is lovestruck books in Cambridge! They have an attached cafe/wine bar with great tiramisu

Def not worth a half day trip to Nantucket, but maybe Martha’s Vineyard! The ferry ride to Nantucket is an hour each way and you’d barely have time to see anything. I can give more suggestions based on where you’re staying on Cape for food and activities if you’d like!!

I loved cape cod!! Definitely go to Chatham bars inn at sunset for live music. I don’t drink and it was still so fun. Nantucket was fun but if you don’t want to spend a ton money shopping or going to a beach then it isn’t worth it in my opinion.

I’d do a Martha’s Vineyard day trip over Nantucket!!! It is just as charming, with an amazing cape code island feel. Closer and quicker ferry. Plus more towns (oak bluffs, Edgartown, and vineyard haven) to explore and totally doable to see them in one day! Pretty sure the island busses are free to ride this summer season too!

I’ve lived in mass my whole life! In Boston I would say check out trident bookstores, Boston common gardens, Newbury street for shopping and definitely the duck boats or swan boats!
