The temperature of a star determines its color. Hotter stars emit more blue light, while cooler stars appear red. For example, very hot stars can have surface temperatures above 30,000 Kelvin and appear blue. Medium-temperature stars, like the Sun, have temperatures of about 5,500 Kelvin and look yellow. Cooler stars, with temperatures around 3,000 Kelvin, appear red. This relationship between temperature and color is explained by the blackbody radiation, which describes how objects emit light based on their temperature. Scientists use this information to learn more about stars, such as their age, size, and composition. #space #universe #solarsystem #planet #star
