No I speak from experience moving dorms twice, this will rip the paint and drywall off. Use command hooks and strips they go on and come off with no damage as long as you go slow pulling off.

Do not use this in a dorm room unless you want to pay fees. This stuff will definitely stick things to the walls but it also takes the wall with it when you take it down. 🙃
