Food Pantry The library's community-supported food pantry is located in the library entranceway. It’s available for anyone who needs it during library hours. We welcome donations of non-perishable food items such as breakfast bars, canned soups, canned meat (SPAM, chicken, tuna), rice, pasta, beans, as well as gluten-free items. Donations of bread, fresh vegetables and fruit that do not require refrigeration are also needed. Personal care items, toilet paper, diapers, and toiletries are very much in demand. Please see the list below for a complete list of suggestions. We cannot accept chemicals, medications, homemade food items, expired or unsealed or opened food. If you have a question about the pantry, please ask in the library or email us at library@woodstockil.gov. The pantry is supported solely through community donations of food and toiletries. Library volunteers help to straighten and re-stock the pantry weekly. Library funds are not used to stock the pantry. The library's pantry does not replace the services provided by full-scale food pantries. Our pantry is small, so it cannot be relied on to help with pervasive need. However, it also is available to everyone whenever the library is open. There are no applications or need to prove financial need. Cold Weather Clothing Exchange During winter months the library also has a coat rack filled with donated coats and a bins of gloves, hats, and scarves. Anyone is welcome to take what they need to keep warm. Donations of gloves, coats, winter boots, snow pants are greatly appreciated. Needed Items Canned soup and canned meat (tuna, chicken, ham) Breakfast Cereal Canned beans and dry beans (pinto, split pea, kidney) Ramen noodles Spaghetti noodles/pasta Rice Powdered/canned milk Flour/Sugar/Masa Harina Cooking oil/Crisco/Manteca Herbs and Spices Condiments (ketchup, mustard) Toothpaste and Toothbrushes Baby Food and Formula Soap (dish, hand, or body soap) Shampoo Lotion Laundry Detergent Deodorant Hygiene Supplies - especially toilet paper! We can accept some perishable items that do not require refrigeration such as bread, buns/rolls, tortillas. As well as fruits and vegetables that aren't 'delicate': apples, oranges, carrots, squash, onions, potatoes, etc. Please do not donate food that needs to be in a refrigerator or freezer. Mon-Thu 9am-8pm Fri-Sat 9am-5pm Closed | Labor Day | Sun Aug 31 & Mon Sept 1 414 W Judd Street Woodstock, IL 60098 Phone: 815-338-0542 Email Us
