The amount of inspections and permits and all that got missed? That’s wild.. I think I’d rather pay taxes on an empty lot, than one with the house on it lol. Either way, hopefully the city makes it right. Sad, they had to even go this far. This is a no brainer. Figure it out Chicago

Look an empty lot has little to No taxes therfore if they were paying taxes they would have noticed something wrong because they were not paying enough double edge sword 😉 knowing is half the battle

that is exactly why you go through a Title co....they are supposed to make sure thus doesn't happen.....where was the bank/loan Co ...they are responsible also.... how about IL. collector...over charged them for a lot without a home....(fraud)...And this crap about statuet of limitations...even if they apply,,it would not apply to later years they are due a refund with penalties ... Did they recieve notices of delinquent taxes? who did plate survey and didn't notice ther was not a house on it.... who was the developer ? they would be responsible for making sure the lots were indicated and house is on correct lot...
