Ummmm it is standard practice for us to go around the corner. Bad practice not yelling Leo. Bad practice not recognizing he dropped the weapon. But the resident had 100% right to answer with a gun at night and not seeing anyone.

step 1 of how to get shot. holding a gun in view. dont answer the door with a gun in view. that is called brandishing a fire arm. he dropped it but also moved his hand up quickly. the officer likely saw the movement but not him dropping the gun. making the officer belive the gun was being raised, as all this took place within a second of the guy answering the door with a gun in his hand.

Look up Ryan Whitaker in Arizona. Almost the same damn thing, but he was killed. He was playing video games with his GF and yelling and answered the door after hearing multiple knocks throughout the night. RIP Ryan! 😢
