went from caring about their users to caring about their wallets 😐 piracy was always there but people CHOSE to pay for Netflix and Netflix decided to squeeze even more and now piracy is back on the rise.

Fun fact: Piracy isn’t illegal. Watching movies for free from pirated websites is completely legal. Ethically questionable but legal. However, distributing pirated content can be illegal. That’s why torrenting pirated material is illegal (if you get caught), because it’s not just downloading, but also sharing.

Streaming services were only popular when it was easier than piracy, now since everything is spread out across like 10+ services (even a single show with seasons on different sites!!!) piracy is now easier and quicker
