So first thing first your door catch is upside down, so your deadbolt is never gonna lock until you flip it after you flip it make sure that the catch is as far outward towards the exterior of the RV as possible you might have to make new holes for the screws to go into so the door will close smoothly, but if it is still giving you trouble I would lightly tap the catch with a hammer and a piece of wood to help relieve some of the pressure when closing entry door

Ours did that and we had to re level the RV. Then it stopped.

You need to adjust the striker plate. Plus it looks like the plate is installed upside down

Your camper is definitely twisted. Never disconnect the camper if the truck is not straight.

your strike is upside down for 1. the folded in part should be out for security. I had to flatten mine. it stuck too far away from the Jam of the door. i used longer screews with a flatter head to hold it better

Looks like you have a Jayco trailer and mine is doing the same thing. It’s been to the shop twice. It’s still under the warning.

Hoping you find a solution because we have the same issue. Granted we swapped out our factory installed latch for a punch code lock so maybe that plays into it some. My next try is to put a little hot glue to see if it will hold the screen door latch in place. Seems like when that slips back towards the interior of the camper vs the exterior the issue gets worse.

I had an issue where the screen door was keeping the other door from latching. The latch that holds the screen door to the outer door was up against the screen door.

You slid the top one all the way the other direction. Adjust it back until it just stops closing again then go ever so slightly back out

If you have steps that flip inside the doorway make sure they aren’t interfering with the door

Starter, the latch shouldn’t have been that rooked to begin with. Put it back close to original, make sure it is horizontally straight. Make minute adjustments. Baby steps. That’ll keeep it where latch and dead bolt all still work. Camper doors (newer ones) have retention springs.

your hinges are sprung. check that the door hinges are not sprung. Meaning the hinges are touching each other before the door is actually closed (almost always the problem).

Lube the door latch ! And the sun has bowed the door! Stick 2 small blocks”2x4” top and bottom of the door and push on the center

looks like the latch moved when you first touched it. re-center the latch. straight up and down. check all of the screws on the hinges. make sure camper is level both ways. (north-south & east-west) the screws on the hinges caused my door problems a few years ago.

You got a pre-deal the bottom get it just right and you should be fine and make sure it latches have someone on the outside to make sure your deadbolt locks as well
