all first aid kits should come with BP cuffs and stethoscopes. as well as air ways, ambubags and a pulse oximeter. you can diagnose and stabilize so many accidents if u just have these simple items.

The standard civilian should not be dropping OPAs. That sounds like aspiration risks waiting to happen. Head tilt chin lift should be all they need cuz realistically in a mass casualty event, they will not be doing CPR. That bag should have tourniquets however, super important.

Maybe weird question, but if you are disabled would there be enough room for meds as well as possible fluids and iv supplies? Or would you recommend a separate bag at that point for specialized care?

I know a lady who's a paramedic who worked in the ambulance who kept little barbies and trucks in her bag in case kids were there so she could get them to focus on something other then mom or dad

I also believe that in order to get your driver's license you should have basic first aid and trauma training and know how to use these instruments. you're 100 percent correct, when the paramedics can't arrive you are now the paramedic.

btw, for other budget people in the comments, there are quite a few good FAK brands that accept HSA and stuff like that. i got mine from MyFAK, came with literally anything i could think of needing as someone with basic first aid knowledge. my only complaint was i only got 1 TQ, but i shouldve ordered more when i got it
