Man of Steel has so many great scenes and ideas but it struggles with 2 important Superman points. He needs to be a kind boy scout. And he needs to save people. Hundreds of people died when he decided to punch Zod through skyscrapers. Imo Batman was right.

Superman taking out Zod never bothered me. Superman knocking Zod intentionally through the grain elevator of the town where he grew up did. As someone who grew up in Smallville, that moment took me from being insanely hyped to totally lost with it in a moment. I think Superman Returns is very underrated. Not perfect but has a lot going for it. But the OG is the best.

I would love to see a Superman movie when he’s a *young* boy, learning to deal with his powers. Everything is too loud; he can see through walls and doesn’t want to; the world might as well be made of tissue paper and cotton candy. I would pay danger money for that.

It’s this new one. I had so much fun watching it last night. Just pure fun. Paced just as fast as he flies and the movie trusts its audience to enjoy it. So many time I had tears in my eyes just from little inspirational moments. Loved it so much.

I was so excited for the new one. Then James Gunn had to say something stupid. (I was surprised he hadn’t earlier) Now it’s a hard no just on principle. I’m bummed because it looks pretty good.

I saw an early screening of it yesterday and I really like it. I don't like Superman being all broody and intense, he was fun and genuinely cared about the people he was saving. I love Man of Steel and I love this too. I think people need to give it a chance.

Solid takes kit. i liked superman returns.I thought it was a lot of fun. it definitely had some weird moments, but i agree that it's not a movie im gonna watch again for various reasons. i also like how richard donner's original still holds up. the earnestness of the character and the effects are still good. Dated sure, but it doesn't take away from the rewatch
