And yet, the ball player pointed his off hand and raised the ball in the exact same position before he threw it. The only difference was that there was no pause during the game. When that player was young and learning he pause to learn proper form too. Side note: in combat WE DON'T PAUSE EITHER!

Also, baseball outfielders throw baseballs all day, to approximately the same couple of distances, all the time. Soldiers dont throw grenades that often, and when they do, it could be any number of distances or behind obstacles or what have you

Because the technique for throwing is different, in the army you shove the grenade away from you, you don’t throw it like a baseball.

Actually, if you watch pro ball players, they do point with their off arm. They just do it so smooth and fast that we don't normally notice it.

most of the knuckleheads should not. there are probably 20 to 30% of the Marines I was with that has the ability to throw it farther than the pit

Watch the ball player again. His glove did go up. But, yes, holding an explosive ordinance does tend to motivate you.

I remember grenade training when I was in basic and what the drill sergeant said.The grenade can either go off in 5 seconds, 3 seconds, not at all or instantly! BTW you got really beautiful eyes

The grenade is heavier and a much more awkward shape to grip/hold. Not to mention it can’t move around in your hand at all before the release

I was in the platoon in Basic that had the "Pyle" who threw the pin and dropped the grenade, and had to be thrown out of the grenade pit by the Drill Sergeant. 😬 Up to that point, I thought that story was make believe.
