Attaching the weight to your wrist changes the moment arm. Think about lateral raises, it’s harder when your arms are fully extended, but when you bend them it’s way easier. The weight is closer to the pivot point making it easier. To sum it up, it easier because it’s literally just lighter.

It becomes a lot easier because of the length of the lever arm decreasing. There is more torque being provided when the applied force (tension from cable of the machine), is coming from your fist rather than your wrist. Nonetheless, still a good, useful product which definitely does seem to assist with keeping proper form.
