Never, never give two weeks notice. Let them know the last day you are going to be at work. They won’t give you notice. You owe them nothing.

I had some medical stuff going on so my manager told me to figure it out or find another job. So I found another job. When I have him my 2 week notice he was confused and asked why. I told him he told me to find another job, so I did.

I told my manager I was going to university three hours away and that I’m working my minimum notice period as I had to move out pretty quick. She told me my request was cancelled and I’d have to defer a year. Suffice to say she was shocked when I didn’t show up for any of my scheduled shift after my last day 😂

This but after all that back and forth they take your shifts away (even though they just complained that they would be short without you) and never let you complete those 2 weeks and start acting like it was their decision let you go

Expecting an hourly employee to function like a contracted employee is ridiculous. Even with a contract, people can typically get out of it when they are moving to a different state.

This happened to me when I graduated high school and went to college out of state. I came back six years later with my degree and the owner and the managers were confused why I didn't start working there again. I had my degree.

I got a call from a previous employer in 2021 saying they were all remote did i want my job back, heck yes!my retail job manager was so offended I would leave after 2.5 years for a work from home job that paid double plus benefits what I was making.
