One of the highlights of our visit was being invited to a traditional Japanese family dinner! Everything was made by the family with much care and love. The sweetest, Kiko-san became our student guide around Fukuoka and the University. This is her grandparents home where her mother was raised. The homestead is over 100 years old. We sat on tatami mats, on pillows for dinner. We also celebrated tanabata with her family and decorated a bamboo tree with our wishes.
