I would recommend saying,”her hair” as opposed to “the hair”. At that age, she may develop a negative reaction to her hair texture if you use negative energy as a description. Her hair is far from unmanageable.

Maybe you didn’t mean to but be careful about the word choice regarding textured hair. Many of us grew up hearing discourse about how our hair was problematic and unmanageable and it takes years to unlearn that.
