I feel like my husband would resonate with this so much. He’s always let me handle my family affairs, but as soon as he puts his foot down after years of witnessing what I’ve put up with, he’s all of a sudden a bad guy.. when in reality, he’s one of the only consistent people in my life.

Yes! I will forever feel sorry for my husband that he can’t have the relationship that we have with my parents… my son too. But we didn’t get here over night it was 12 years of witnessing the treatment of us or comments etc.

After our wedding it was immediate blocks on everything. She’s a stranger, and that’s okay. I just still grieve the idea of having in-laws who actually want us. Having no parents on either side of the family sucks. We feel so alone some days.

MIL told me the “disrespect went both ways” and dismissed the initial disrespect towards me in the first place (insults etc). I don’t tolerate disrespect and I will react to it. It seems as tho she thinks her actions will be tolerated and there won’t be any consequences. PUH-LEASE😒

I wonder if there is any daughter in law who doesn't go through this, I used to think I was an exception, for years, until I saw them for wat they really were. Greed, jealousy, hate, and the constant need to be better than everyone else.
