I know Ironheart got a lot of hate for that line, “Would Tony Stark even be Tony Stark if he wasn’t a billionaire,” but it actually made me think. What if Marvel were hinting at something deeper? Like, who would Tony have been if he wasn’t raised by Tony and Maria Stark and all of their wealth? After endgame I saw a couple of theories saying that Tony was adopted, especially with that strange moment in Endgame where he seems confused when Howard says Maria is expecting. Maybe the timelines didn’t add up in his head. Maybe Maria was pregnant, but the child didn’t make it, so they decided to adopt. And the child they raised was actually Victor Von Doom. In the comics Tony was actually adopted so it not far fetched. We’ve seen the devastating effects Stark Industries had on people, for example creating orphans like Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. What if Howard Stark’s weapons were responsible for killing Doom’s mother, and out of guilt, the Starks adopted him? In Earth-616, that child is raised with privilege and becomes Tony Stark. But in another universe, where he’s never adopted and grows up in hardship, he becomes Doctor Doom
