@theprofessorwrites: Replying to @Andrea Sarvady and to be clear - if a literary agent is a queer person and they know they’re personally not the best fit for more difficult/realistic queer stories because of their own trauma - fine. But I have seen at least a whole handful of straight cis women agents who are listing themselves as interested in LGBTQ stories who also specifically say they only want stories where the character’s queerness isn’t central to the storyline. And like, okay? I think we’d like that too but it’s not our lives experience so do you want Own Voice or do you want gay ACOTAR?
